This past year couldn’t have been better for Tenuta Mara and its labels. The biodynamic Sangiovese which is cultivated on the hills of Rimini has indeed achieved four important acknowledgements:
Following the wine-tasting for the assignment of The WineHunter Award, Tenuta Mara was chosen for the XXVI Merano Wine Festival – Sezione Extremis, for both its labels: MaraMia 2015 and Guiry 2014.
Luca Maroni, one of the most important wine experts in Italy, as well as editor of the annual ‘I Migliori Vini Italiani’ or ‘Best Italian Wines’, attributed MaraMia 2015, 94/100 points defining it as the ‘usual incredibly perfect smoothness of taste’ the offspring of MaraMia 2015 of Biodynamic Tenuta Mara. Consistently the best biodynamic red wine in Italy, not only for its magnificent expressive palatal quality (which is the effect of its exemplary balance of persuasiveness, acidity and tannin) and for the density of its extractive texture, but also for the clean oxidized oenological execution. From its pure and even turgid varietal to its vanilla and pure black cherry pulp. I take my hat off!
The Italian wine guide Vinibuoni of the Italian Touring Club appointed the “Crown” to MaraMia 2015 and the “Golden Star” to Guiry 2014. Tenuta Mara embraced the prize, which was assigned during the finals with particular pride when the panel of regional judges convened at Villa di Toppo Florio in Buttrio: the guide is in fact inspired by the traditional Italian winemaking industry and is aimed at enhancing local roots, the territory and characteristic product, giving a precise signal to the consumer and the Italian and foreign markets, about the made in Italy of the wine.
The DAWA Awards (Decanter Asia Wine Awards) honoured MaraMia 2015 with the bronze medal award. The DAWA are the most prestigious wine-producing contest in the whole of Asia. Judged by the most qualified wine professionals in Asia, it is born with the aim of providing a reliable source of consumer recommendation.
